The Richmoor Hotel- This is a lovely family-run hotel on Weymouth seafront. It has a friendly, homely atmosphere, excellent home-cooked food and cheap bar prices. The Richmoor Hotel is at the quieter end of the seafront but within walking distance of the town centre and Greenhill Gardens. All the en suite rooms were refurbished in the last 2 years and come with plenty of facilities. Some rooms have sea views over Weymouth Bay. The staff are helpful and sociable, and you can enjoy live entertainment in the bar.

Bugle Inn- This village pub has en suite rooms and serves good home-cooked food all day. It is 3 miles (4.8 km) from the Eden Project. Bugle village is located on the A391 between Bodmin and St Austell. The pub is fully licensed and hosts live entertainment most Sundays. Breakfast is served from 08:00, or earlier on request.

George and Dragon- This 18th-century inn in the picturesque Chiltern Hills offers good dining and quirky, traditional bedrooms. The inn is close to the Hellfire Caves and West Wycombe Park. Reach the inn through a cobbled archway, as many traders and travellers have done for generations. Enjoy attentive service and a large garden with a children's play area. On the menu, George & Dragon serves local game, English cheeses, traditional puddings and lamb from the local estate. Well-kept Real Ales are available. Bedrooms are comfortable and interesting. All have the uneven floorboards and unusual features that come with age, in addition to Sky TV and an en suite bathroom.

Fir Trees- Built in 1888 and retaining lots of original features, all rooms at this well-reputed guest house are well furnished, spotlessly clean and decorated to a very high standard. Fir Trees is close to all amenities in Windermere and Bowness, both of which are a 10 minute walk away. There is plenty of off-road car parking and a garage for cyclists who may wish to leave their cycles overnight. Breakfasts are all cooked to order and offer a good choice; just what you need to set you up for the day. There are lots of scenic walks nearby for those wishing to leave the car behind and go off on foot to explore this area of outstanding natural beauty. Stone Head House- Just off the Pennine Way, this small, beautiful manor house was built in 1596 and is rich in original character and traditional charm. Today, it offers free Wi-Fi and lovely rooms. In the small valley of Stone Head, near Lothersdale and Cowling in North Yorkshire, Stone Head House once served as a working farm. There are only a handful of properties in the hidden valley, all of similar age. The beautiful original building has been carefully preserved and sensitively refurbished. With flagstone floors downstairs and a huge inglenook fireplace in the dining hall, the guest house provides charming bed and breakfast accommodation at very reasonable rates. Small and intimate, the guest house offers friendly, personal service. All of the rooms have tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast is cooked on the traditional Aga stove in the quaint farmhouse kitchen. A varied breakfast menu is available, including fresh-baked bread, full English breakfasts, smoked Alaskan salmon and oak-smoked kippers from Whitby.
